 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Independent business owners play a vital role in
 their communities, and San Antonio is indeed fortunate to count
 among its citizens Frank de la Garza, the president of De La Garza
 Fence Company; and
 WHEREAS, Soon after graduating from John Marshall High School
 in 1969, Mr. de la Garza helped his parents, Efrain and Isabel de la
 Garza, launch a commercial fencing business; while continuing to
 work at the new company, he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology
 and sociology from Our Lady of the Lake University in 1977; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. de la Garza now leads De La Garza Fence, which is
 approaching its 50th anniversary; under his able guidance, the
 enterprise has employed hundreds of area residents and provided
 fencing and installation services to such clients as H-E-B, the
 City of San Antonio, Boeing, the San Antonio water system, and
 numerous school districts; the company has also generously
 supported many worthwhile causes, donating both resources and the
 time and expertise of its personnel, and Mr. de la Garza is known
 for his personal commitment to philanthropy; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan and his wife of 29 years, Cindy
 de la Garza, are the proud parents of three sons, two of whom are
 also engaged in the family business; and
 WHEREAS, Exemplifying the Texas entrepreneurial spirit,
 Frank de la Garza and his family have made many significant
 contributions to their community, and it is a pleasure to recognize
 them and their company at this time; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Frank de la
 Garza and his family on the success of the De La Garza Fence Company
 and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. de la Garza as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
