H.R. No. 422 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Jared Brown of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 507 in Borger has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. Brown earned 36 merit badges and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project to organize a retirement ceremony at Fritch City Park for more than 300 flags; and WHEREAS, The son of Shannon and Michelle Brown, this fine young Texan is a sophomore at West Texas A&M University; he has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, serving his peers as a den chief, patrol leader, and troop guide; he is also a member of the prestigious Order of the Arrow; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Brown's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jared Brown of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 507 on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
