 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Shelby Brainard of Boy Scouts of America Troop
 No. 155 in Georgetown has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
 accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
 WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor
 bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting
 movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria,
 Mr. Brainard earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully
 completed an Eagle Scout project, which involved the rejuvenation
 of two play areas at First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown; and
 WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding
 leadership ability throughout his scouting career, serving twice as
 patrol leader and winning the respect and admiration of his fellow
 troop members as he worked toward the highest rank that the
 organization offers; and
 WHEREAS, A 2017 graduate of East View High School,
 Mr. Brainard was captain of the debate team and a member of the
 National Honor Society; he has further distinguished himself as a
 three-year participant in the Williamson County Teen Court, and he
 gained valuable experience as a page in the United States Senate; he
 plans to attend Princeton University in the fall; and
 WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Brainard's dedication to excellence and
 his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy
 to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with
 pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Shelby
 Brainard on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him
 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Eagle Scout Brainard as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
