SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 14
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been
enhanced by a great and enduring love, Billy Dean and Carolyn
Risinger celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10,
2017, with a renewal of their vows; and
WHEREAS, Billy Dean Risinger met the future Carolyn Risinger
while he was a student at Laneville High School and she was
attending Mount Enterprise High; they were joined in matrimony in
1967 at Maple Grove Church in Minden, and with the passing years,
their family has grown to include four children, Wendy Boatman,
Angie Bowers, Annie Barker, and the late Stacy Risinger, as well
as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Valued members of their community, Mr. and
Mrs. Risinger retired from the Texas Department of Criminal
Justice, where they both served as correctional officers; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
half century, this devoted husband and wife have remained
constant in their commitment to each other, and the strength of
their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and
opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Billy Dean
and Carolyn Risinger on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend
to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the couple as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
