SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 154 In Memory of Heath Abram Faucheux WHEREAS, No words can soften the pain of a life cut short, but the family and friends of Heath Abram Faucheux of Hallsville may find comfort in their memories of this beloved young man, who passed away on August 5, 2017, at the age of 16; and WHEREAS, The son of Dion and Michelle Faucheux and brother of Nathan and Trent Faucheux, Heath Faucheux was born in Effingham, Illinois, on March 20, 2001; he attended Hallsville High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and played French horn in the Hallsville Bobcat Band; in addition, he enjoyed making music at the piano or on the harmonica, and he recently taught himself to play trumpet; his musical tastes were broad, ranging from jazz and show tunes to classic hits and Christian songs; and WHEREAS, Mr. Faucheux was a member of the Hallsville Math Science Team and competed in Academic University Interscholastic League from sixth grade onward; athletic as well, he earned a first-degree black belt in tae kwon do and lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross; his greatest enthusiasm was scouting, and he excelled in the movement from his days as a Tiger Cub, earning the Arrow of Light and nearing completion of his Eagle Scout requirements; a natural leader, he set an example of kindness, courtesy, and integrity; he enjoyed teaching skills to younger scouts, and he was a staff member for National Youth Leadership Training Camp, Cub Day Camp, and Camporee, as well as senior patrol leader, guide, and bugler for his own troop; his sense of adventure found an outlet in mountain climbing, knee boarding, canoeing, sailing, swimming, and many other outdoor activities; and WHEREAS, Uncommonly mature and observant for his age, Heath Faucheux demonstrated a high degree of empathy, and he reached out to those who were shy or uncertain; his smile, sense of humor, and wildly creative ideas brightened the days of everyone he encountered; although the loss of one so full of promise brings immeasurable heartache, those he leaves behind will forever cherish the precious years they shared with him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Heath Abram Faucheux and extend deepest condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Heath Abram Faucheux.
