                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 155
 In Memory
 of
 William Hunter Brannon
 WHEREAS, No words can adequately express the sorrow caused
 by the tragic loss of William Hunter Brannon of Hallsville, who
 died on August 5, 2017, at the age of 17; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Stan and Michelle Brannon, Will Brannon
 was born in Longview on December 18, 1999, and grew up in
 Hallsville; he was very close to his sister, Carolanne, and the
 family shared many interests, including history, Cardinals
 baseball, and all things Aggie; they spent many happy hours
 together hiking national parks, attending air shows to see World
 War II planes, and relaxing at Caddo Lake and at their deer lease;
 in the summer of 2017, he traveled with his sister to Vicksburg,
 Mississippi, for hiking and camping; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Brannon was looking forward to beginning his
 senior year at Hallsville High School, where he led the tuba section
 in the Bobcat Band; friendly, engaging, and also mischievous, he
 loved both helping and pranking new members of the band, and he
 took pride in his section's recent victory over the drumline in
 marching competition; he planned to study history at West Texas
 A&M University with a view toward becoming a teacher; and
 WHEREAS, This active young Texan relished taking on
 technical and outdoor challenges; he was a member of Boy Scout
 Troop No. 620 and the Order of the Arrow Brotherhood, and in
 2016, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout after completing a
 service project in which he constructed a dodgeball arena for a
 special-needs school; in his free time, he enjoyed archery,
 solving Rubik's Cube puzzles, playing Monster Hunter, and
 drinking coffee and RC Cola; he had a wonderful gift for finding
 something to treasure in each day; and
 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of this remarkable young man
 is a sobering reminder of the fragility of life, and those who
 were fortunate enough to know Will Brannon will forever cherish
 their memories of precious moments spent in his company; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life
 of William Hunter Brannon and extend deepest condolences to his
 loved ones; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
 so in memory of Will Brannon.
