SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 158 WHEREAS, Captain Audra Clinton Livingston is retiring from the Texas Department of Public Safety in August 2017, drawing to a close a notable tenure with the department that has spanned more than three decades; and WHEREAS, Audra Livingston entered the department's recruit school in January 1985, and following graduation, he began his first assignment in Huntsville; promoted to sergeant in 1994, he continued to rise steadily through the ranks, earning promotion to lieutenant in 1996 and captain in 2002; over the years, he has served the agency as a leader and mentor in a number of Texas cities, including San Augustine, McAllen, Marshall, Lubbock, and Tyler; and WHEREAS, An alumnus of San Augustine High School, Captain Livingston holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Stephen F. Austin State University; he also completed a police command staff program at the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Captain Livingston has enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Mary, and of his three children, Kristin, Audrey, and Jacob; and WHEREAS, Audra Livingston's expertise, professionalism, and devotion to the core values of the Texas Department of Public Safety have greatly benefited the citizens of Texas, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Captain Audra Clinton Livingston on the occasion of his retirement from the Texas Department of Public Safety and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Captain Livingston as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
