SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 20
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Travis and Margie
Stuart of Lufkin celebrated this joyous milestone in their
marriage on April 28, 2017; and
WHEREAS, T. A. Stuart and the former Margie Dell were joined
in matrimony in 1967 at the Church of the Nazarene in Henderson;
over the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that
includes their children, James, Jerry, and Tina, as well as their 7
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Stuart
enjoyed a rewarding career as a locomotive engineer with
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, and Mrs. Stuart retired
from Cox Enterprises after years of dedicated service as a
circulation manager for the Lufkin Daily News and the Nacogdoches
Daily Sentinel; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart have enjoyed five decades of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate T. A. and
Margie Stuart on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
