                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 73
 In Memory
 of
 John Glynn Patrick
 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
 the passing of John Glynn Patrick of Gladewater on June 15, 2017,
 at the age of 82; and
 WHEREAS, The youngest son of John Patrick and Leona Patrick
 Collier, John Patrick was born on November 23, 1934, in Many,
 Louisiana; he grew up with the companionship of three brothers,
 Bobby, Bennie, and Robert, and began working in the tool and die
 industry as a teenager; over the course of his life, he resided in
 a number of Texas cities, including East Mountain, Longview,
 Garland, and Gladewater, where he established his own company,
 Texas Die Casting, in 1984; he operated the business for more
 than two decades before selling it and retiring in 2007; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Patrick served his country with pride as a
 member of the United States Army Reserve; he also contributed to
 his community as president of the Gladewater Chamber of Commerce,
 as well as through a number of philanthropic endeavors; a deacon
 at First Baptist Church of Gladewater, he played an instrumental
 role in the renovation of its sanctuary as chair of the building
 committee; and
 WHEREAS, Valuing his family above all else, Mr. Patrick
 shared 64 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Bonita, and he
 took great pride in their four daughters, Tammy, Penny, Alisa,
 and Patricia; with the passing years, he was further blessed with
 sixgrandchildren, Sarah,Austin,Tyler,Natalie,Amanda,and
 Elizabeth, and three great-grandchildren, Anabelle, Victoria,
 and Elijah; and
 WHEREAS, In his leisure hours, Mr. Patrick pursued a wide
 range of hobbies, including fishing, hunting, camping, gardening,
 and reading, and his most cherished memories were made while
 spending time with his loved ones at his home on Lake Gladewater;
 and
 WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his
 community, John Patrick touched countless lives during his
 journey on this earth, and he will forever hold a special place in
 the hearts of all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
 of John Glynn Patrick and extend heartfelt sympathy to his
 relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
 so in memory of John Patrick.
