A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the term of a parking permit issued to a residential
tenant by a landlord.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 92, Property Code, is
amended by adding Section 92.0132 to read as follows:
Sec. 92.0132. TERM OF PARKING PERMIT. A landlord who issues
a parking permit to a tenant:
(1) must issue the permit for a term that is
coterminous with the tenant's lease term; and
(2) may not terminate or suspend the permit until the
date the tenant's right of possession ends.
SECTION 2. Section 92.0132, Property Code, as added by this
Act, applies to a parking permit issued on or after the effective
date of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect January 1, 2020.
