A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a written response by the General Land Office to a
request by a governmental entity to use certain real property owned
by the state.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 31, Natural Resources
Code, is amended by adding Section 31.069 to read as follows:
Sec. 31.069. RESPONSE TO REQUEST TO USE CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY OWNED BY STATE. (a) The commissioner or the
commissioner's designee shall respond in writing to a written
request by a political subdivision or state agency for approval of
the use of real property owned by the state that is administered by
the land office.
(b) A written response made under this section, if the
request is denied, must provide a reason for the denial.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
