No. 3044 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to political expenditures made by a corporation to finance the solicitation of political contributions to a political committee. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 253.100(b), Election Code, is amended to read as follows: (b) A corporation may make political expenditures, including fully or partially matching contributions to an organization that is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3), Internal Revenue Code of 1986, to finance the solicitation of political contributions to a general-purpose committee assisted under Subsection (a) from the stockholders, employees, or families of stockholders or employees of one or more corporations. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
