A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to driver's licensing requirements for minors.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 521.165(c), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(c) In [Except as provided by Subsection (d), in] issuing a
driver's license for certain types of vehicles, the director may
waive a driving test for an applicant who has successfully
completed and passed the training and testing conducted by a person
certified under Subsection (a).
SECTION 2. Section 521.165(d), Transportation Code, is
repealed.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
