No. 944 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hines of Jack County 4-H was named the recipient of a 2017 4-H Gold Star Award; and WHEREAS, First presented in 1933, the Gold Star Award was created to recognize the hard work of exemplary 4-H members; it is the highest county-level achievement prize conferred by 4-H; and WHEREAS, To qualify for the Gold Star Award, members must demonstrate leadership ability and participate in one or more community service initiatives; in addition, they are required to belong to 4-H for a minimum of three years, to complete projects in three different areas of emphasis, and to participate in a variety of activities; and WHEREAS, Through her hard work and commitment to excellence, Elizabeth Hines has brought great credit to her 4-H club, and she may indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Hines of Jack County 4-H on her receipt of a 4-H Gold Star Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Hines as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
