 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to a political subdivision's adoption of zoning
 regulations for certain coin-operated machines.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 2153.452, Occupations Code, is amended
 to read as follows:
 Sec. 2153.452.  ZONING.  A [(a) For purposes of zoning, a]
 political subdivision of this state may adopt zoning regulations to
 govern [shall treat] the exhibition of a music or skill or pleasure
 coin-operated machine [in the same manner as the political
 subdivision treats the principal use of the property where the
 machine is exhibited].
 [(b)     Subsection (a) does not prohibit a municipality from
 restricting the exhibition of a coin-operated amusement machine
 within 300 feet of a church, school, or hospital.]
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
