A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to industrial solid waste generated in a foreign country.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 361.0235, Health and
Safety Code, is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 361.0235. HAZARDOUS WASTE AND INDUSTRIAL SOLID WASTE
GENERATED IN FOREIGN COUNTRY.
SECTION 2. Section 361.0235(a), Health and Safety Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(a) Except as otherwise provided by this section, a person
may not receive, transport, or cause to be transported into this
state, for the purpose of treatment, storage, or disposal in this
state, hazardous waste or Class I industrial solid waste generated
in a country other than the United States.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
