 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to a study on the need for infrastructure improvements or
 designations of oversize and overweight vehicle corridors in
 certain counties.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  (a) The Texas Department of Transportation
 shall conduct a study to identify in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties:
 (1)  necessary infrastructure improvements to county
 roads; and
 (2)  potential corridors that could be designated for
 the use of oversize and overweight vehicles.
 (b)  Not later than January 1, 2021, the Texas Department of
 Transportation shall submit a report on the results of the study to
 the governor, the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of
 representatives, and the presiding officer of each standing
 committee of the legislature with jurisdiction over transportation
 matters. The report must contain recommendations for any necessary
 infrastructure improvements or designations of oversize and
 overweight vehicle corridors in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties.
 (c)  This Act expires August 31, 2021.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
