A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to authorizing certain examination fee subsidies for
public school teachers who provide instruction in career and
technology education courses.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 29.190(b), Education Code, is amended to
read as follows:
(b) A teacher is entitled to a subsidy under this section if
the teacher:
(1) passes a certification examination related to
cybersecurity; or
(2) passes a certification examination to qualify for
an industry-recognized license or certificate related to a career
and technology education course in which the teacher provides
instruction.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
