SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 538 In Memory of Doyce Lee Maywald WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Doyce Lee Maywald of Sulphur Springs on March 3, 2019, at the age of 100; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Joe and Lola Womble, the former Doyce Womble was born in Healdton, Oklahoma, on May 10, 1918, and she grew up with three sisters, Virginia, Syblene, and Carolynn, and two brothers, Joe and Harold; and WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Kilgore, Mrs. Maywald enjoyed a rewarding career with the Delta Drilling Company, retiring from her secretarial position in 1982; in addition, she was a valued member of the First Baptist Church in Kilgore; and WHEREAS, She married Alton Maywald in 1973, and the couple shared nearly a decade together, before his death; Mrs. Maywald took great pride in her daughter, Judy, and she had the pleasure of seeing her treasured family grow to include four grandchildren, Robert, Ann, James, and Kay Lynn, as well as two additional generations; and WHEREAS, Although Doyce Maywald is greatly missed, this kind and caring woman has left her loved ones with many cherished memories, and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Doyce Lee Maywaldandextenddeepestsympathytothemembersofherfamily: to her daughter, Judy Vanwinkle, and her husband, Rip; to her grandchildren, Robert Vanwinkle Jr. and his wife, Joyce, Ann Brown and her husband, Mike, James Vanwinkle and his wife, Jamie, and Kay Lynn Gordon and her husband, Jerry; to her nine great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild; to her many nieces and nephews; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Doyce Maywald.
