SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 801 In Memory of Clidell Elliott WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Clidell Elliott of Troup on May 15, 2019, at the age of 104; and WHEREAS, The former Clidell Wornick was born to Ibra and Lilly Wornick on December 28, 1914, in Milano; one of 11 children, she grew up on a farm outside of Troup and graduated from high school in town in 1933; and WHEREAS, After leaving the farm in 1941, she worked in cafes in Houston and Pasadena during World War II before beginning her career with Pasadena State Bank; she later accepted a position at San Jacinto State Bank, where she worked for nearly three decades; and WHEREAS, In 1948, she married George Elliott, and the couple shared a rewarding union that spanned 14 years until Mr. Elliott's death; she took great pride in her son, William, and her four stepsons, George, Lawrence, James, and Wyley, and with the passing years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include a grandson, William; and WHEREAS, Although Clidell Elliott will be deeply missed, she has left her family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Clidell Elliott and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clidell Elliott.
