Frank, Chair, House Committee on Human Services     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB105 by Ortega (Relating to the use of promotoras and community health workers in Medicaid managed care.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to allow Medicaid managed care organizations to categorize services provided by a promotora or community health worker as a quality improvement cost instead of an administrative expense. According to HHSC, this practice is currently allowable and therefore no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
