The bill would amend the Family Code to allow a child's managing conservator to surrender the child to the possessory conservator at the managing conservator's residence, under certain circumstances, if the child's school is closed. The bill would also require a conservator to immediately notify a school when a child will not be or has not been returned to the school unless that absence is due to school closure.Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
