The bill would amend the Estates Code to designate charges for electrical services provided to a person as critical care for their last illness as a Class 1 claim against their estate. A personal representative for the estate must pay Class 1 claims up to $15,000 prior to paying other claims against the estate.Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
