                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 11, 2021       TO: Honorable Bryan Hughes, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1387 by Harris (Relating to the storage of firearms and ammunition in the same locked location in certain foster homes.), As Engrossed     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend Human Resources Code to update minimum standards to allow firearms and ammunition to be stored together in the same locked location.Based on analysis of the Health and Human Services Commission and the Department of Family and Protective Services, it is assumed that the costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
