A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the definition of business day for purposes of the
public information law.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 552.003, Government Code, is amended by
adding Subdivision (8) to read as follows:
(8) "Business day" means a day other than a:
(A) Saturday or Sunday;
(B) national holiday under Section 662.003(a);
or
(C) state holiday described by Section
662.004(b).
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to a request for public information received by a governmental body
or officer for public information on or after the effective date of
this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
