The bill would amend the Texas Government Code to limit the authority of the governor and certain political subdivisions to prohibit or restrict manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, supply, retail, or access to firearms or ammunition during a disaster or emergency.The Office of the Governor, the Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Department of Emergency Management all indicate that they could absorb the costs associated with the bill within current resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
