                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 19, 2021       TO: Honorable Dade Phelan, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1576 by Parker (Relating to the creation of a work group on blockchain matters concerning this state.), As Passed 2nd House     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would create a work group on blockchain matters concerning the state and require the workgroup to develop a master plan for the expansion of the blockchain industry within the state. The master plan must be submitted to certain legislative committees of the Senate and House of Representatives no later than October 31, 2022.According to the Department of Information Resources and Trusteed Programs within the Office of the Governor, any work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.  Local Government ImpactNo fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
