                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 7, 2021       TO: Honorable Garnet Coleman, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB192 by Ortega (Relating to the continuing education requirement for county commissioners.), As Introduced     No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize continuing education instruction for county commissioners to be completed online.   Local Government ImpactAccording to Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to counties is anticipated. The bill would have an insignificant but positive fiscal impact on El Paso County by eliminating an estimated $6,800 per year in commissioner's court travel and hotel costs.
