                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 30, 2021       TO: Honorable Rafael Anchia, Chair, House Committee on Pensions, Investments & Financial Services     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1977 by Parker (Relating to the applicability of certain limitations on the capture and use of biometric identifiers to financial institutions.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code, Section 503.001(e) relating to the applicability of certain limitations on the capture and use of biometric identifiers to financial institutions. The bill would narrow the Office of the Attorney General's authority by exempting financial institutions from this chapter. According to the Office of the Attorney General, it is anticipated that any work resulting from the passage of this bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
