It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to school districts and open-enrollment charter schools providing panic alert devices in classrooms could be absorbed using existing resources.  Local Government ImpactLocal education agencies (districts and charter schools) would need to purchase and install panic alert devices in all classrooms in the districts if governing boards and trustees do not opt out from this requirement. The costs associated with this requirement would vary based on size and existing infrastructure. The agency does not have a way to estimate these costs.
