                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 12, 2021       TO: Honorable Dade Phelan, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB2152 by Meyer (Relating to the online renewal of vehicle registration.), As Passed 2nd House     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend Transportation Code, Chapter 502, to authorize a person who is otherwise eligible to renew a vehicle registration under that chapter to renew the registration through an online registration system maintained by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV).  Based on the information provided by TxDMV, it is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
