The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code as it relates to providing criminal penalties for drug-induced abortion procedures. Under the provisions of the bill, a person would commit a state jail felony if they intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly violated any provision of the bill.The Health and Human Services Commission and Texas Medical Board indicate the modifications outlined in the bill's provisions would not result in a significant fiscal impact. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions would not result in a significant impact on the demand for state correctional resources.
