The bill would amend the Government Code to exempt from public disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act a person's home address and personal phone number as they appear in a citation for traffic violations. The bill would create exceptions to allow certain radio and television stations and certain newspapers access to the information.Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Depart, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the bill could be accomplished utilizing available resources. In addition, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated with the implementation of the bill. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources.
