The bill would amend the Water Code to exempt certain permits and filings from cancellation of a water right for nonuse if the nonuse resulted from an executed temporary or permanent forbearance agreement as defined in the bill. Based on the analysis of the TCEQ, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.
