The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code and the Water Code to expand the responsibilities of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) related to water permits. The bill would be effective September 1, 2021. Based on information provided by TPWD, the Texas Water Development Board, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
