The bill would amend the Occupations Code to require certain physicians seeking licensing renewal to complete at least one hour of continuing medical education regarding the identification and assistance of victims of human trafficking. The bill would require the Texas Medical Board (TMB) to approve the associated courses, of which at least one must be free, and maintain and post a list of the approved courses on its website.TMB indicates that anticipated costs could be absorbed using existing agency resources.
