The bill amends the Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 56B.003 by updating the definition of "family violence" to that provided in Section 71.004 of the Family Code. The bill also changes the definition of "household" by removing the requirement that a household member must be related to the victim by consanguinity or affinity.It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
