The bill would amend Chapter 6 of the Tax Code, regarding local property tax administration, to provide that the local administrative district judge in the county in which the appraisal district is established appoint appraisal review board (ARB) members. The bill would provide that ARB members of a consolidated board are appointed jointly by the local administrative district judges in counties of the appraisal districts party to the contract. The bill would remove certain eligibility restrictions for serving as an ARB member in counties with a population of less than 120,000.
