The bill would amend the Transportation Code to specify that if a vehicle safety inspection is required for an automated motor vehicle that is designed to be operated exclusively by the automated driving system for all trips, the vehicle shall automatically be considered to pass the inspection with respect to certain vehicle equipment.Based on the analysis of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.
