The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code relating to the requirement that certain persons taking oysters on a licensed commercial oyster boat obtain a commercial fisherman's license. The bill would take effect September 1, 2021, or immediately if it received a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Based on information provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
