                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 21, 2021       TO: Honorable Jeff Leach, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB365 by Murr (relating to liability arising from farm animals.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Civil Practices and Remedies Code, including the chapter heading, related to the limitation of liability arising from farm animals. The bill would expand several definitions and provide that with only certain exceptions all persons, now including a farm owner or lessee, are not liable for property damage or damages arising from the personal injury or death of a participant in a farm animal activity or livestock show in certain instances. The bill would also require the posting of a liability limitation warning notice in certain locations and in certain written contracts.Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
