The bill would amend the Government Code, regarding work hours and place where work is performed, for state employees. The bill authorizes the administrative head of a state agency to adopt an agency policy that allows a supervisor to permit an employee to work from an alternative work site, including the employee's residence, as the employee's regular or assigned temporary place of employment. The bill would also allow employees working from alternative work sites, with supervisor approval, to work at times other than regular hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.The bill would require the Department of Information Resources with potential assistance from the Texas A&M Transportation Institute to compile a report no later than November 1 of each even-numbered year regarding the impact of alternative worksite policies.
