The bill would amend the Penal Code as it relates to certain conduct constituting the criminal offense of aggravated assault.  Under the provisions of the bill, the punishment for certain aggravated assault would be enhanced from a second degree to a first degree felony based on the specific circumstances of the offense.The Office of Court Administration and Department of Criminal Justice indicate the modifications outlined in the bill's provisions would not result in a significant fiscal impact.  This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions would not result in a significant impact on the demand of state correctional resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
