A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the conveyance or transfer of a portion of a state
highway road to an airport, land port, or sea port.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 250, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 250.002 to read as follows:
Sec. 250.002 CONVEYANCE OR TRANSFER OF A PORTION OF A STATE
HIGHWAY ROAD TO AN AIRPORT, LAND PORT, OR SEA PORT. (a) The
department may enter into an agreement to allow an airport, land
port, or sea port to acquire a portion of a state highway road.
(b) An agreement entered into under this section must
provide that the airport, land port, or sea port is responsible for
maintaining the acquired property.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
