The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to add a fine imposed in a criminal case to the list of costs that a court may designate as uncollectible if the fine has been unpaid for at least 15 years. The bill would also provide that other items of cost may be designated as uncollectible also if unpaid for at least 15 years. The bill would allow a clerk of a municipal court to collect money payable to the municipal court under the bill's provisions.Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
