The bill would amend Chapter 222 of the Health and Safety Code to require health care facilities to adopt and implement a policy to prevent exposure to surgical smoke through the use of a surgical smoke evacuation system during a planned surgical procedure that is likely to generate surgical smoke.The Health and Human Services Commission indicates it could absorb the costs associated with the bill within current resources.
