A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to information about elections held by fresh water supply
districts.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 53, Water Code, is amended
by adding Section 53.089 to read as follows:
Sec. 53.089. ELECTION AND CANDIDATE INFORMATION. (a) A
district shall include information about elections and candidates
for elections as required by this section with a district's bill to
a customer.
(b) The district shall include the following, as applicable
to the next election to be held by the district:
(1) the date, time, and place of the election; and
(2) the name of each candidate for the election and
whether or not the candidate is an incumbent.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
