 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the procedures of the State Commission on Judicial
 Conduct.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 33.0211, Government Code, is amended by
 adding Subsections (c) and (c-1) to read as follows:
 (c)  Unless the Commission has commenced an informal hearing
 or initiated formal proceedings related to a complaint, the
 Commission must dismiss a complaint on the first Monday after 455
 days from the date the complaint was received by the Commission.
 (c-1)  The executive director may recommend, and the
 chairperson may approve an extension of up to 120 days for complaint
 disposition due to extenuating circumstances, including a need for
 further investigation.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
