                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 29, 2021       TO: Honorable Garnet Coleman, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB4354 by Coleman (Relating to the administration of medication to certain persons in the custody of a sheriff.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to the administration of psychotropic medication to certain persons in county jails. The bill would direct the Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS) to adopt minimum jails standards related to the provision of prescription medications to certain persons in county jail facilities. According to TCJS, the costs associated with the bill's provisions could be absorbed using existing resources.
