The bill would amend various codes as they relate to parole eligibility. Under the provisions of the bill, for individuals serving sentences for certain trafficking of persons offenses, eligibility for consideration to release to parole supervision would be either removed or subjected to certain limitations. The Office of Court Administration, the Department of Criminal Justice, and the Board of Pardons and Paroles indicate the modifications outlined in the bill's provisions would not result in a significant fiscal impact. This analysis assumes implementing the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions would not result in a significant impact on the demand for state correctional resources.
